President Rohani Leaves NY For Tehran

New York, Sept 28, IRNA – President Hassan Rohani left New York for Tehran Friday night concluding his five-day visit to the United Nations during which he conducted numerous diplomatic meetings with senior world officials. During the meetings, he discussed the most important international and regional issues with the world officials and reviewed bilateral ties with them. In the last moments of his presence in New York, President Rohani talked with US President Barack Obama over the phone. The two presidents discussed different issues during their phone conversation. The Iranian and US presidents underlined the need for a political will for expediting resolution of West’s standoff with Iran over the latter’s nuclear program. President Rohani and President Obama stressed the necessity for mutual cooperation on different regional issues. Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif and his US counterpart John Kerry have been commissioned to follow up talks between the two countries./end
