PRESIDENT RECEIVES PM OF SINGAPORE

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ The leader of Mongolia Ts.Elbegdorj Monday received the Prime Minister of the Republic of Singapore Mr Lee Hsien Loong. The latter thanked Mr Elbegdorj for coming to his country with the state visit, confident that this will give a great impetus to the bilateral relations and cooperation. In response, the President said he wants to study the Singaporean experience that might be useful in a "From Big Government to Smart Government" initiative which was launched recently by the President himself in Mongolia. He also hopes that the government of Singapore will cooperate with Mongolia in matters concerning a corruption reduction, improvement of governmental and state bodies' operations. Then the Mongolian leader stressed that ties between the two peoples as well as the tourism sector should be developed, "so it might be rightful to start direct flights between Mongolia and Singapore". The Singaporean PM said he received all these proposals and supports them.
