IAEA DIVISION HEAD OSCAR ACUNA VISITING

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ Chief of the Asia and Pacific Division of IAEA Department of Technical Cooperation Mr Oscar Acuna Monday began a working visit to Mongolia. In frames of the visit, Mr Acuna will see an implementation course of projects being implemented in Mongolia within the 2012-2013 Technical Cooperation Programme between Mongolia and IAEA, as well as activities of organizations to realize new projects in 2014-2015 and draft projects for 2016-2017. He will meet with authorities of the related Ministry and scientific organizations. Moreover, Mr Acuna plans to meet with officials of the Ministry of Industry and Agriculture, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of Health; and the Permanent Representative of the UN to Mongolia for sharing views on implementation courses of ongoing projects and further challenges. By the visiting programme, Mr Acuna also will leg the Nuclear Research Center at the Mongolian State University (MSU), the Physics and Technology Institute at the Academy of Sciences, the National Center of Oncology, the Veterinary Scientific Institute at the University of Agriculture and the Central Laboratory for Veterinary Sanitation. As a result of the visit, the Mongolia’s government and the IAEA are expected to formulate the draft 2015-2020 TCP.
