More trains provided for referendum voters in Thailand

BANGKOK, August 3 (TNA) - The State Railway of Thailand (SRT) announces that it will increase train carriages to facilitate eligible voters to go to their hometowns and cast ballots in the upcoming referendum on the the country's new Constitution draft, set on August 7. SRT Governor Wutthichart Kalayanamitr told journalists on Wednesday that about two carriages will be added to 200 inter-provincial and local trains to serve additional 10,000 passengers a day during August 5-7. Wutthichart said if the extra train service from Bangkok to destinations in the North, Northeast and South and vice versa is still not enough, SRT is ready to increase more trains during the three-day period. According to the SRT chief, passengers can buy their tickets this weekend at all train stations across the country. (TNA)
