Sony to Launch Walkman Priced around 320,000 Yen

Tokyo, Sept. 8 (Jiji Press)--Sony Corp. <6758> said Thursday that it will launch a new Walkman in Japan on Oct. 29, which will likely be priced around 320,000 yen, the highest in the history of the portable music player. The NW-WM1Z model will be released as part of the Japanese electronics and entertainment giant's Signature Series. It features Sony's superb technology to play back high-resolution music. The most expensive Walkman so far has been the NW-ZX2 model, which went on sale in February 2015 at a price of around 130,000 yen. END
