CHIANG MAI, THAILAND, December 8 (TNA) - Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn will inaugurate the Chalermprakiat Astronomical Observatory on Doi Inthanon, Thailand’s highest peak in the northern Chiang Mai Province on December 23. Thai Air Force Assistant Commander-in-Chief Air Chief Marshal Chaiyapruk Didyasarin announced the royal schedule on Thursday, after chairing a meeting of the organizing committee on the inauguration of the Chalermprakiat Astronomical Observatory and inspecting the site prior to the upcoming visit of the Princess. The northern Chalermprakiat Astronomical Observatory is aimed to be a learning center for the public, including for monitoring space objects, and to be a training venue for Thai army cadets to develop their astronomical skills.
