CCTV centres opened in Bangkok
BANGKOK, January 10 (TNA) - The Bangkok Metropolitan Administration (BMA) has opened a total of 12 close-circuit televisions CCTVs management centres to provide 24-hour easier access to the general public when asking for any CCTV footage.
Bangkok Governor Police General Asawin Kwanmuang presided over a ceremony to officially open a CCTVs management centre at Bang Bon District in the capital on January 9.
Footage from all the 14,845 CCTVs installed at the 12 CCTVs management centres in Bangkok will be linked with the Central CCTVs Management Command at the BMA head office, as well as all 50 districts in the city and 88 metropolitan police stations.
The opening of the 12 CCTVs management centres came after as many as 35,736 copies of CCTV footage had been asked for by the Traffic Control Centre during 2008-2016, causing inconveniences and wastes of time.
The 12 CCTVs management centres have been established to cover the six district groups in the capital, in which any person can ask for copies of CCTV footage by specifying the pole, camera, or the camera box number, the date, time and where the incident took place, by the submission of a copy of an official daily report from a local police station and a photo copy of their ID card.
