Bright prospect for Thai processed food & beverage products in Hong Kong

BANGKOK, August 27 (TNA) - Thai processed food & beverage products have been well recognized in Hong Kong, with the total export value expected to reach about 407 million baht within one year. Suwanchai Lohawatanakul, Director General of the Office of Small and Medium Enterprises Promotion (OSMEP), told journalists of the positive prospect on August 26, after he led a team of 20 Thai business operators of processed food and beverage products to participate in a trade fair, the HKTDC Food Expo 2018, in Hong Kong recently. Suwanchai said that the participating Thai business operators secured their immediate purchase orders of about 4 million baht totally, assessing that the Thai business operators should receive their purchase orders of about 407 million baht over the next 12 months. According to the OSMEP chief, Thai products that were well-welcome included processed fruits and instant fruit refreshment drinks, namely instant durian-mixed coffee, instant milk tea, dried crispy durian, mango and mangosteen and other crispy fruits, as well as dried durian tablets, processed longan stuffed with durian, crispy durian sticky rice, crispy mango sticky rice, organic and brown Hom Mali grains and dried seasonings. The OSMEP chief revealed that a business matching platform was also included in the recent the HKTDC Food Expo 2018, in which 298 pairs of business operators were reported. (TNA)
