Europe’s SPV financial system main agenda of Iran-UK FMs meeting

Tehran, Nov 19, IRNA – Iran’s Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif and his visiting counterpart Jeremy Hunt discussed a wide range of issues in a meeting in Tehran on Monday, on top of which was a proposed financial mechanism by Europe known as Special-Purpose Vehicle (SPV). Special Purpose Vehicle aims to help facilitate transactions between Iran and the European countries within the framework of Iran nuclear deal, despite the new US sanctions re-imposed on Tehran. The UK foreign secretary arrived in the Iranian capital earlier on Monday on a one-day visit. Zarif and Hunt discussed issues of bilateral importance, including the need to bring an immediate end to the hostilities in Yemen, as well as other developments across the region. During his stay in Tehran, Hunt is also scheduled to hold a meeting with Secretary of Iran’s Supreme National Security Council Ali Shamkhani.
