Richard Mille AlUla Desert Polo Begins with Praise from Polo World Icons

AlUla, January 18, 2024, SPA -- The third edition of the Richard Mille AlUla Desert Polo started yesterday with two exciting matches against the backdrop of the desert landscape at Al Fursan Village in AlUla Governorate. The event is organized by the Royal Commission for AlUla (RCU) in partnership with the Saudi Polo Federation (SPF).
According to a press release by the RCU, this highly anticipated tournament promises competitive action and showcases top-tier horsemanship. The Richard Mille AlUla Desert Polo has gained recognition for its "innovation and excellence in the world of polo".
In the first match between the Saudia and SAB teams, polo legends Adolfo Cambiaso, Sayuu Dantana, and Melissa Ganzi led Saudia to an 8-5 victory against David Stirling, Alessandro Barnaba and Prince Sultan bin Khaled bin Faisal.
Following Saudia's victory, Cambiaso commended the RCU and SPF for their excellent organization, as well as the notable enhancements in the field and the quality of purebred horses. He also expressed his appreciation for the development since his previous participation, specifically highlighting the expansion to eight teams featuring the world's best players.
In the second match, the Dadan team triumphed over the AlUla team. Led by Mia Cambiaso, Nacho Figueras, and Eugen Carl Oettingen Wallerstein, Dadan outplayed AlUla's Poroto Cambiaso, Nicky Sen, and Prince Salman bin Mansoor bin Nassir, securing a close 8-6 victory.
