Saudi Teams Make Strides in World Archery Rankings
Riyadh, January 30, 2024, SPA -- The Saudi archery teams have made impressive advancements in World Archery’s rankings in January, surpassing their positions from the same month last year and marking significant milestones for the Saudi Archery Federation.
In the global Sanlida World Ranking, the Saudi men's compound-bow team ascended to 20th place, a remarkable improvement from their previous position at 41st place.
In the recurve men category, the Saudi archers moved up from 48th to 37th place on an international level. Notably, in the recurve mixed category, the Saudi archers soared to 55th place, a considerable leap from their 79th place ranking last year.
Meanwhile, the Saudi women's archery team in the recurve-bow category progressed significantly in the Sanlida ranking, securing 42nd place.
In the World Archery’s Continental Rankings, the Saudi men's compound-bow team has risen to an impressive 7th place, surpassing their previous 10th place ranking.
In the men's recurve-bow category, the Saudi archers have maintained their 12th place at the continental level, while in the recurve mixed category, they have further advanced to 17th place, compared to 21st place last year.
Expressing his delight, Saudi Archery Federation Chairman Mishaal bin Abdul Mohsen Al Hokair commended the progress made by Saudi archers in the World Archery rankings.
He emphasized that this remarkable achievement would not have been possible without the unwavering support provided by the Kingdom’s leadership for the sports sector. He also recognized the Ministry of Sport and the Saudi Olympic and Paralympic Committee for their support.
