Araqchi: Iran seeks broader cooperation with Africa within free trade area framework

Tehran, IRNA – Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi says Iran and African countries can complement each other’s economies, and that the Islamic Republic intends to expand its economic cooperation with the continent within a free trade zone framework.

The top diplomat made the comments as he addressed a ceremony marking the 62nd anniversary of the establishment of the African Union on May 25, which is known as Africa Day. The ceremony was held in the Iranian capital, Tehran, and was attended by African ambassadors to the Islamic Republic.
