State Academic Degrees and Titles Awarded to Intellectuals
Pyongyang, May 26 (KCNA) -- State academic degrees and titles were awarded to intellectuals who made research achievements conducive to the economic development of the DPRK and the improvement of the people's standard of living and made positive contributions to the education of the rising generation.
Present at the awarding ceremony, held on May 25, were Vice-Premier Jon Sung Guk and intellectuals.
After the decision of the State Commission for Conferment of Academic Degrees and Titles of the DPRK was conveyed, the title of candidate academician was awarded to Ham Sang Ho, a researcher of the Academy of Coal Mining Science.
Professorship was conferred on Vice-director of an institute Kang Ryong Chol, teacher Ri Hak Chol and researcher Mun Myong Hwa of Kim Il Sung University, Chae Pyong Chol, section chief of the Pyongyang University of Medicine Hospital, Vice-rector Ryang Kyong Ho and Department Head Kong Hyok of University of National Economy, and Kang Hyon Su, director of the Hamhung Branch of the State Academy of Sciences.
Doctoral degrees were awarded to 49 persons, including Vice-dean of a faculty Kil Ho Il and teacher Jang Mi Ok of Kim Il Sung University, Kim Chang Nam, department head of Kim Hyong Jik University of Education, and Mun Kwang Il, a teacher of Kim Chol Ju University of Education. -0-
