Khorramabad Valley inscribed on UNESCO World Heritage list

Tehran, IRNA – The Khorramabad Valley, recognized as one of Iran’s most significant prehistoric regions, has been officially inscribed on UNESCO’s World Heritage List, marking a milestone in the preservation of humanity’s earliest civilizations.
Following the inscription of prehistoric Sites of Khorramabad Valley on UNESCO’s World Heritage List during the 47th session of the World Heritage Committee, Reza Salehi-Amiri, Iran’s Minister of Cultural Heritage, Tourism, and Handicrafts, described this achievement as a milestone in Iran’s cultural diplomacy and a reflection of the country's immense civilizational legacy.
Salehi-Amiri considered this achievement an intelligent and cultural response to Iranophobia project.
While the Israeli regime is targeting the security and life of the peoples of the region with military attacks and psychological warfare, the Iranian nation has decided to send the voice of culture to the world instead of the sound of explosions, he added.
The inscription of Khorramabad Valley under such circumstances carries a clear message: In Iran, even in the toughest days, history, art, and cultural heritage remain priorities because we are a nation born from culture, not from violence.
Meanwhile, in a meeting with Representative of the people of Lorestan in Iran’s Parliament Reza Sepahvand, Director General of Lorestan Cultural Heritage, Handicrafts and Tourism Ata Hassanpour said most of the barriers to investment in this sector have been resolved in recent years, and today Lorestan tourism can be safe and suitable for the presence of domestic and foreign investors.
