HM King meets senior royals, top officials, and achievers

Manama, July 17 (BNA): His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa received senior members of the royal family, the Speaker of the House of Representatives, top officials, citizens, and Bahraini achievers who had represented the Kingdom in international military sports competitions, at Al Sakhir Palace.
Following a recitation from the Holy Quran, His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa delivered a speech on the occasion, in which His Majesty welcomed the attendees and extended congratulations on the new Hijri year.
HM the King expressed appreciation for the security and stability in the Kingdom and hoped that these would extend to other countries, particularly neighbouring states with which Bahrain shares strong ties.
HM the King also reiterated Bahrain’s hopes for deeper regional cooperation to advance common goals of stability and prosperity.
HM expressed sincere appreciation to the people of Bahrain, both citizens and officials, for their strong sense of responsibility and exemplary national unity in facing recent exceptional circumstances.
HM noted that these commendable positions reflect the enduring ability of the Bahraini people to stand together in defence of the Kingdom’s developmental achievements and cohesive social fabric.
HM also commended the high level of preparedness and operational excellence demonstrated by both military and civil institutions. HM extended thanks to all those who contributed with dedication and professionalism during those challenging times, noting that the experience offered valuable lessons for the future.
HM emphasised that, regardless of the scale of any challenge, steadfast national resolve remains the Kingdom’s strongest safeguard in overcoming crises.
HM the King congratulated the Bahrain Defence Force (BDF) on their outstanding results in recent regional and international military sports competitions.
HM the King expressed pride in the commitment and professionalism of the Kingdom’s military and security forces, thanking them for their service and for safeguarding Bahrain.
His Majesty the King was greeted by the teams who excelled in the first GCC Military Shooting Championship, the International Sniper Team Competition in Turkey, the UAE SWAT Challenge, and the Royal Guard boxing team who competed in London. HM the King congratulated them on their outstanding achievements and wished them success in future events.
Colonel Mohammed Abdulaziz Mohammed expressed pride in meeting His Majesty the King and attributed the achievements of the Bahrain Defence Force’s military sports teams to His Majesty’s continued support and encouragement. He outlined the key accomplishments for 2025, including first place in the GCC Military Shooting Championship hosted by Bahrain, where the Kingdom’s teams won the overall championship trophy, as well as first place in both the 200 metre rifle plate shooting event and the individual warrior competition. The team also secured second place in the pistol and submachine gun plate shooting events, and third place in the officer warrior category.
He further highlighted Bahrain’s second place finishes in the UAE SWAT Challenge and the International Sniper Team Competition held in Turkey, where the team earned a silver medal.
Colonel Mohammed noted that these accomplishments reflect the BDF’s high levels of physical readiness and professionalism, and showcase the capabilities of Bahraini military teams at both regional and international levels.
Brigadier Mohammed Abdulatif Jalal, Director of the Bahrain Military Sports Federation, presented a commemorative gift to His Majesty the King during the reception.
The meeting concluded with attendees expressing gratitude to His Majesty the King for the honour of the audience and his continued support, emphasising their loyalty and pride in the Kingdom’s progress and its distinguished standing under His Majesty’s leadership.
