PM Affirms Iraq’s Openness to Productive Partnerships with Germany and the EU

Baghdad / NINA/-Prime Minister, Mohammed Shia Al-Sudani affirmed the Iraqi government's openness to establishing fruitful and productive partnerships with the Federal Republic of Germany and all European Union countries.
According to a statement from the Prime Minister’s media office, Al-Sudani received today the German Ambassador to Iraq, Christiane Hohmann, on the occasion of the end of her diplomatic mission in Baghdad.
During the meeting, the Prime Minister expressed his appreciation for Ambassador Hohmann’s efforts during her tenure, stressing the importance of activating the Iraqi-German Joint Committee. He also commended the positive role of the German Agency for International Cooperation (GIZ) and the German Development Bank (KfW) in enhancing economic cooperation between the two countries.
For her part, Ambassador Hohmann expressed her gratitude for the Iraqi government's positions, praising its success in keeping Iraq away from regional conflicts and highlighting the progress in implementing the joint memoranda of understanding. She also reaffirmed her country’s desire to strengthen bilateral cooperation and increase the participation of German companies in Iraq’s reconstruction and ongoing development efforts./ End
