Bishkek, Sept. 8, 2025 /Kabar/. Today, more than 70 thousand mortgage apartments are being built in order to solve the housing problems of citizens, President of Kyrgyzstan Sadyr Zhaparov told at a ceremonial event on the occasion of the 10th anniversary of the State Mortgage Company.
The head of state recalled that the company, having started its activities with an authorized capital of 10 million soms, had gone through many difficulties during this time, but continued to strive to create affordable conditions for citizens who did not have their own housing and were forced to rent apartments.
In 2021, three areas appeared within the framework of the My Home 2021-2026 program: Social Mortgage, Preferential Mortgage and Affordable Mortgage.
To improve the efficiency of the company, it was transferred to the Presidential Property Management Department. Sadyr Zhaparov emphasized that previously the company worked only in partnership with commercial banks, financing the purchase of housing, and did not participate in the distribution of apartments from its own fund.
Starting in 2021, the company began building residential complexes. At the first stage, housing was handed over to 3,251 citizens in need of an apartment: first in the city of Bishkek, then in Jalal-Abad.
Today, the authorized capital of the State Mortgage Company is 87.5 billion soms. To date, the company has provided housing to 13,850 families. About 100 thousand citizens are currently waiting for their turn under the state housing program.
"This means that our program to provide affordable housing is being successfully implemented. This also confirms that the people's trust in the government is growing. I would like to especially note that today more than 70 thousand apartments are being built to solve the housing problems of citizens," the president said.
He also emphasized that today's event is not only the 10th anniversary of the State Mortgage Company, but also the beginning of a new era, opening the way for every citizen to decent and affordable housing.
"We have serious tasks ahead. We intend to expand financing mechanisms, develop shared construction. We set ourselves the goal of providing social mortgages at 4% per annum and without a down payment for large families, people with disabilities, and young professionals. Such benefits will also be provided for employees of the state and social spheres,” noted Sadyr Zhaparov.
