Kyrgyzstanis witness 'Blood Moon' eclipse

Bishkek, Sept. 8, 2025 /Kabar/. Kyrgyzstanis were able to see a total lunar eclipse called "Blood Moon" on the night of September 7-8, 2025.
The eclipse went exactly as scientists predicted - the entire moon plunged into the shadow of the earth and acquired a reddish tint. The total phase lasted about 82 minutes, and the entire process took about 5 hours and 27 minutes.
The eclipse was fully visible in Bishkek. The beginning of the total phase was at about 23:29, the end of the total phase was at 00:53, and the total end was at about 01:56.
A “blood moon” is the common name for a total lunar eclipse. During this event, the Earth passes directly between the Sun and the moon, blocking direct sunlight and casting the moon into Earth's shadow.
Earth's atmosphere scatters the shorter, blue wavelengths of sunlight, allowing longer, redder wavelengths to pass through and illuminate the lunar surface, giving it a reddish or ruddy appearance.
