New York, Sep. 24 (BNA): Lulwa Saleh Al Awadhi, Secretary General of the Supreme Council for Women (SCW), met with Noura Khalifa Al Suwaidi, Secretary General of the General Women’s Union of the United Arab Emirates, on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly high level meeting marking the 30th anniversary of the Fourth World Conference on Women (Beijing+30) at the United Nations headquarters in New York.

During the meeting, the two sides renewed the memorandum of understanding aimed at strengthening mechanisms of cooperation and coordination in supporting and empowering women. The MoU aims at exchanging knowledge, studies, and experiences; implementing joint programmes, projects, and workshops; and working together to unify Gulf, regional, and international efforts in advancing women’s progress.

Both sides emphasised that the MoU reflects the relations between the Kingdom of Bahrain and the United Arab Emirates, established by the leaderships of the two countries on the basis of cooperation, integration, and joint action, within the framework of their deep-rooted ties and shared destiny.

They also underscored that the signing of the MoU represents an advanced step in renewing communication, expanding areas of joint work, and enhancing cooperation on women’s issues, particularly in light of the significant progress and achievements of women in both countries across development domains.
