Foreign Minister deposits Bahrain’s accession document to Vienna Convention on Law of Treaties 1969

New York, Sep. 24 (BNA): Dr. Abdullatif bin Rashid Al Zayani, Minister of Foreign Affairs, deposited the Kingdom of Bahrain’s accession document to the Vienna Convention on the Law of Treaties 1969 at the United Nations. The event took place at the UN headquarters in New York on the sidelines of the 80th session of the UN General Assembly.
Dr. Al Zayani handed the accession document to Elinor Hammarskjöld, UN Under-Secretary-General for Legal Affairs.
He confirmed that Bahrain’s accession reflects its strong commitment to supporting the international legal system, promoting multilateral cooperation, and enhancing the legal principles and norms governing relations between states. This contributes to maintaining international peace and security.
The event was attended by Ambassador Jamal Faris Al Ruwaie, Permanent Representative of Bahrain to the UN in New York, Ambassador Shaikh Abdullah bin Ali Al Khalifa, Director General of Bilateral Relations at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and the Minister’s accompanying delegation.
