Foreign Minister meets Azerbaijani counterpart

New York, Sep. 25 (BNA): Dr. Abdullatif bin Rashid Al Zayani, Minister of Foreign Affairs, met with Jeyhun Bayramov, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan, at the United Nations headquarters in New York on the sidelines of the 80th session of the UN General Assembly.

The meeting reviewed the distinguished relations between the Kingdom of Bahrain and the Republic of Azerbaijan and the progress of their cooperation at all levels. Both sides discussed means to further strengthen ties across various domains in line with the common interests of the two countries and peoples, in addition to addressing the latest regional and international developments.

The two sides signed an agreement on mutual exemption from visa requirements for holders of diplomatic passports.

The meeting was attended by Jamal Fares Al Ruwaiei, Permanent Representative of the Kingdom of Bahrain to the UN in New York; Khaled Yousef Al Jalahma, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs for Political Affairs; and Shaikh Abdullah bin Ali Al Khalifa, Director General of Bilateral Relations Affairs at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
