New York, Sept. 26 (BNA): Dana Imad Hamzah, Assistant Undersecretary for Sustainable Development at the Ministry of Sustainable Development, participated in the summit on “A Sustainable, Inclusive and Resilient Global Economy: Implementing Commitments of Financing Development”, held in New York on the sidelines of the High-Level Week of the 80th UN General Assembly.

The meeting reviewed commitments related to financing the Sustainable Development Goals, promoted dialogue between governments and multilateral financial institutions, and explored ways to strengthen cooperation between the UN and international financial institutions in support of the 2030 Agenda.

In Bahrain’s national statement, Hamzah affirmed the Kingdom’s commitment to advancing development at all levels. She highlighted the country’s pioneering steps in financing sustainable development, including the adoption of open data, inclusive digital finance, and comprehensive strategies driven by technology, innovation and research.

She also pointed to the key role of the financial services sector as a priority area for investing in human capital and driving sustainable finance through innovation. She highlighted the importance of financial technology in supporting financial inclusion and stability, noting Bahrain’s continued efforts to enhance the strength of its data systems, which are essential for transparency, guiding investment into economically, socially and environmentally beneficial projects, and supporting financial sustainability.
