Iran not to attend Gaza ceasefire signing ceremony in Egypt

TEHRAN, Oct. 12 (MNA) – An Iranian media outlet revealed that the Islamic Republic of Iran will not attend the ceremony of signing the Gaza ceasefire in Egypt.
An informed source told Tasnim News Agency that Tehran will not attend the Sharm el-Sheikh summit despite receiving an invitation.
Earlier on Sunday, Husam Badran, a member of the political bureau of Hamas, confirmed that the movement will not intervene in the formal signing of the Gaza ceasefire in Egypt.
Badran dismissed claims suggesting that Hamas leaders would leave Gaza under US President Trump’s plan as absurd and meaningless, stressing that no Palestinian would agree to such a proposal.
He also warned that Hamas will respond to any new Israeli aggression, and noted that the next phase of negotiations with Israel will be more difficult and complex.
Yesterday, the Egyptian presidency announced that the city of Sharm El-Sheikh will host a peace summit on Monday aimed at ending the Gaza war. The summit, co-chaired by Egyptian President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi and US President Donald Trump, will include leaders from over 20 countries, and the Gaza ceasefire agreement is expected to be formally signed during the event.
