CJ Jeiljedang to cut flour prices this week
SEOUL, Jan. 15 (Yonhap) -- CJ Jeiljedang Corp., one of South Korea's three major
flour makers, said Friday that it will lower its flour prices starting this week
thanks to global flour price stabilization and a stronger won.
CJ will cut its flour prices by 6.8 to 7.6 percent, the company said in a statement.
Its rival Daehan Flour Mill Co. reduced its flour prices by 7 to 7.7 percent on
Wednesday, while Dongaone Co., the country's top flour maker, cut its flour
prices by 6 to 8 percent on Monday.
The South Korean currency rose an average of 6 percent against the U.S. dollar in
the October-December period of 2009 from the three months earlier.
