KPK DETAINS ANGGODO WIDJOJO

Jakarta, Jan 15 (ANTARA) - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) detained businessman Anggodo Widjojo on Thursday evening for attempted bribery.

When Anggodo was forced into KPK car at 6:45 p.m., and asked by reporters he was tight lipped.

Tightly guarded by KPK security officials, Anggodo was forced into the KPK car driven to Cipinang jail in East Jakarta.

Anggodo was questioned by KPK for the second time on Monday for a bribery attempt and for efforts to hamper an investigation being carried out by the Commission.

He was for the first time grilled by KPK investigators for 10 hours last Friday.

Anggodo was questioned for the first time last Friday after the KPK postponed a questioning session the day earlier (Thursday).

He was initially to be questioned last Thursday but the questioning session was postponed because the KPK investigators wanted to obtain a deeper understanding of certain pertinent matters.

He is the younger brother of Anggoro Widjojo who has been named by the KPK as a suspect for bribery in the supply of an Integrated Radio Communication System to the Forestry Ministry.
