Jakarta, Jan 15 (ANTARA) - The Indonesian government is to send humanitarian aid to earthquake-devastated Haiti on Friday (Jan 15) afternoon, the Foreign Affairs Ministry's spokesperson, Tengku Faizasyah, said.
"The assistance will consist of food, medicine, clothing, water purification equipment and tents weighing a total of 25-30 tons," said Faizasyah.
He said Indonesia, through its Disaster Management Coordinating Board, was also sending 75 emergency response officers to help in the evacuation of the earthquake victims in Haiti.
"The team will include personnel from the Police's victim identification unit, doctors from the Department of Health and two foreign ministry officers," he said.
Faizasyah said the two foreign ministry officers in Haiti were to assist in coordination with the UN and other parties.***
