PERTAMINA REFINARY UNIT IN BALIKPAPAN CATCHES FIRE

Balikpapan, E Kalimantan, Jan 17 (ANTARA) - The state-owned oil and gas company Pertamina's refinary unit cought fire here on Saturday at 11.25 pm, local police said.

Chief of Balikpapan police precint, Adjunct Senior Commissioner A. Rafik said that the fire incident happened at the refinary gas exhaust kitchen.

However, there was no an immediate information about material losses or casualty made available.

"Lower part of the refinary gas exhaust kitchen catches fire at the door-4," he said.

"The fire was extinguished at 11:15 pm local time by the Pertamina fire extinguishing unit," he added.

"We are still investigating about the cause of the fire," Rafik added.
