YEMEN, EGYPT AGREED ON ESTABLISHING JOINT FISHERY COMPANY
SANA'A, Jan. 17 (Saba) - The Yemeni-Egyptian fisheries joint
committee approved on Sunday the establishment of a Yemeni-Egyptian
joint company in fishery industry.
On the sidelines of the committee's 10th round being held in Sana'a
on January 17-18, Deputy Minister of Fisheries Wealth Abdullah
Ba-Sonbol and the chairman of General Authority for Fish Resources
Development (GAFRD) Mohammed Othman talked about organizing training
courses to train workers in fishery areas on new ways of fish
farming, qualification, and facility management.
The two sides also affirmed the importance of activating the
cooperation protocol signed between the Ministry of Fisheries and
the GAFRD in 2007 on promoting cooperation aspects between the two
sides in fields of fish farming in the Yemeni economic zone as well
as the establishment of joint fishery investment.
Ba-Sonbol affirmed the significance of concluding the meetings with
important decisions to benefit from the investment opportunities in
fishery areas and to promote work aspects between Yemen and Egypt to
serve their common interests.
Yemen and Egypt are the most major Arab State's fish productive
countries and contribute in achieving Arab food security, he added.
The committee will continue its meetings on Monday for discussing
the cooperation in scientific research and marine fishing and to
sign the minutes of its 10th round.
