DOWAID PRAISES JAPAN'S SUPPORT TO YEMEN IN VARIOUS FIELDS



SANA'A, Jan.17 (Saba) - Sana'a Governor Nu'aman Dowaid praised on
Sunday the support of the Japanese government and the Japan
International Cooperation Agency (JICA) to Yemen in the various
fields.

This came during this meeting with the members of Project for
Community Nutrition and Health for Mother and Child from both sides
of Yemen and Japan.

Dowaid called for spreading the health culture amid all people in
the urban and rural areas, pointing that the health culture needs
intensive and continuing training courses to achieve the desired
objective.

He urged the Yemeni members to partake effectually in the project
and unify their efforts to provide the necessary potentials to
succeed the project, indicating that the mother would be a skilled
volunteer when she learns and plays her role in society.

During the meeting, the participants reviewed the objectives of the
project, which will last for four years from September 2009 to
August 2013 and being implemented within the cooperation between the
Yemeni Ministry of Public Health and Population and JICA.

The project aims to providing heath and nutrition services in the
local societies and targets the children under 5 and their mothers,
who live in some rural areas in provinces of Sana'a, Hadramout and
Ibb.
