YEMEN, KUWAIT TO ACTIVATE OIL COOPERATION MEMO



SANA'A, Jan. 17 (Saba)- Yemeni-Kuwaiti Technical Committee signed on
Sunday a minute of first meeting of the committee which stated to
activate memo of oil cooperation.

The memo was signed in 2003 between the ministries of oil in both
countries in fields of oil exploration and production and minerals.

The committee affirmed importance of continuing current cooperation
between the two countries in these fields and importance of studying
establishment of joint oil projects.

The Kuwait side said that it would show available investments
chances in field of minerals in Yemen on the Kuwait government and
private sectors.

The two sides agreed to hold second meeting of the committee in
Kuwait next year.

Oil minister Amir al-Adaros reviewed in the meeting available
chances of investment in domains of oil, gas and minerals and
features and advantages granted by Yemen's law of investment.

He highlighted historical relations between Yemen and Kuwait, saying
that several Kuwaiti oil companies are working in Yemen.

For his part, the head of the Kuwaiti side, director of planning and
International Relations at the Kuwaiti oil ministry Ahmed al-Sirafi
affirmed concern of Kuwait to bring this memo into success and push
ahead the mutual cooperation between the two countries.
