STX wins order for wind power facility

SEOUL, Jan. 18 (Yonhap) -- South Korea's STX Group said Monday that it has won a
deal to provide a wind power facility to a Dutch firm.

Under the deal with Main Wind Co., STX Corp., the group's de facto holding
company, will provide 25 2-megawatt wind power turbine generators by 2011.
Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.
Last month, it clinched a 300 million euro (US$428 million) order to build wind
farms in several eastern European nations including Poland, Romania, Hungary and
Bulgaria.
In July last year, STX purchased a Dutch wind-power turbine maker as part of
group-wide efforts to diversify revenue sources.
STX Group, whose key affiliates include STX Offshore & Shipbuilding Co. and STX
Pan Ocean Co., has been seeking to boost its wind power-related business.
The group is targeting 1.5 trillion won in wind power sales by 2015.
