YEMENI-GULF RELATIONS CONFERENCE KICKED OFF IN SANA'A



SANA'A, Jan.19 (Saba) - The President's Political Advisor
Abdul-Karim al-Eryani affirmed on Tuesday that the Yemeni-Gulf
relations gain renewable importance in view of the strategic
,economic and human significance of the Arabian Peninsula.

At the opening of the Yemeni-Gulf Relations Conference under the
title "The Yemeni-Gulf relations..Present.. Future Prospects",
organized by the Yemeni Center for Strategic Studies for two days,
al-Eryani said that the relations between Yemen and the GCC states
are based on a historical depth, humanitarian momentum and
legitimate interests.

He pointed out that in the light of this, all should walk the road
of cooperation, cohesion and integration and face the challenges and
risks on a unified platform and with bright minds and strong
determination to serve the peoples of these countries and to ensure
a secure future for them.

"Yemen and the GCC countries are in a world that intends to
integration and clustering that makes it inevitable for leaders and
intellectuals of these countries to work to promote the values of
cooperation and integration among them", said al-Eryani.

He stressed the importance of coming out of the conference
discussions with proper visions benefiting the decision-makers in
Yemen and the GCC countries.

For his part, Head of the Yemeni Center for Strategic Studies
Mohamed al-Afandi pointed that the conference aims to discuss and
assess the political and economic determinants and their regional
and international connections impacting the Yemeni-Gulf relationship.

Al-Afandi added that the conference would also deal with the main
difficulties and problems facing this relationship as well as
exploring the future of this relationship between the two sides.
