Palu, Jan 19 (ANTARA) - A whirlwind swept through dozens of villages in the eastern coast of Central Sulawesi province on Tuesday, leaving tens of houses damaged.
The villages are located in the three subdistricts of Tinombo, Tinombo Selatan, and Palasa, Parigi Moutong district, Central Sulawesi.
The whirlwind began to hit the area at 10 a.m. and stopped at 02.30 p.m., said Zulman, a resident of Sidoan village in Tinombo subdistrict.
"The wind was so strong that it blew off the roofs of tens of houses at Sidoan village," he said.
He said a number of residents had taken refuge at their neighbors` houses because their houses were damaged.
