YEMEN-U.S. TALKS TO BE HELD

SANA'A, Jan. 21 (Saba) - Foreign Minister Abu Bakr al-Qirbi is to meet on Thursday with the US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton in Washington DC, the state-run 26september weekly has reported.

Well-informed sources made it clear that al-Qirbi and Clinton would discuss the political cooperation and coordination between the two friendly countries as well as efforts in the fighting against terrorism and piracy.

Peace issues in the Middle East and the developments in Somalia and African Horn would also be reviewed by the two Yemeni and U.S. officials.

In a statement to the newspaper, al-Qirbi said that U.S. officials had affirmed their country's support for Yemen's efforts in the fighting against poverty and unemployment and achieving security and stability.
