PROCEDURES FOR CONSTRUCTION OF $ 17 MLN NSM PROJECT APPROVED



SANA'A, Jan.21 (Saba) - The supervisory committee and the running-committee of the National Science Museum (NSM) project approved on Thursday the executive procedures to start the construction and consulting services of the museum buildings.

The supervisory committee, headed by Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research Saleh Ba Sura, also approved the schedule of implementation of the project, which is co-financed by the Abu Dhabi Fund for Development with $ 13 million and the Yemeni government with $ 4 million.

It also approved the work plan of the executive unit of the NSM project for 2010.

The committee also reviewed the report presented by head of the project executive unit on the progress in implementation of the committee decisions and the unit's vision on training the cadres working in the museum

In addition to the results of follow-up of consulting firms working on the project and the results of communication with the organizations and donor countries that put before them to support the other phases of the project in coordination with Ministry of Planning and International Cooperation.

In the meeting, Ba Sura affirmed the importance of the NSM project in providing the society with the qualified cadres and creating new job opportunities.

Ba Sura praised the contributions of the Abu Dhabi Fund via insertion the museum project within its grant presented to Yemen under the memo of understanding signed between Yemen and the fund.
