THIRTY-ONE INDONESIAN TEACHERS TO VISIT A'LIA IN MARCH
Jakarta, Jan 21 (ANTARA) - Some 31 Indonesian school teachers will leave for Australia in March to participate in the country`s BRIDGE (Building Relationships through Intercultural Dialogue and Growing Engagement) Project, Australia`s top diplomat here said.
The three-week BRIDGE program is funded by Myer Foundation and AusAID to support Australia-Indonesia school engagement including its teachers and students, Australian Ambassador to Indonesia Bill Farmer said on Thursday.
"This is a unique opportunity for the teachers to exchange knowledge and experiences with their Australian counterparts and develop their skills - particularly in using the internet as a teaching tool," said Farmer.
During their visit to Australia, the Indonesian teachers take part in several activities, namely visits to Australian schools to build better teaching capacity and improve relationships with Australian counterparts. The teachers will also attend a training to use online resources for teaching purposes.
The Australia-Indonesia BRIDGE Project aims to increase knowledge and understanding between Australia and Indonesia through school-to-school partnerships that link teachers and students in both countries.
The project involves 92 Australian and 92 Indonesian educators (184 in total) from 41 Australian and 41 Indonesian schools (82 in total).
