N. Korea proposes military talks to discuss '3 problems' in Kaesong
SEOUL, Jan. 22 (Yonhap) -- North Korea on Friday proposed military talks with
South Korea to discuss the "three main problems" at the inter-Korean industrial
park in Kaesong, a government official here said.
The three problems the North was referring to are the issues of free
communication, the passage of people and customs clearance, which are critical
factors in promoting the further development of the complex, just north of the
inter-Korean border.
South Korea has long demanded that the North ease restrictions on travel in and
out of the joint industrial park in the North's border town of Kaesong.
"The North proposed the talks be held on Jan. 26," Unification Ministry spokesman
Chun Hae-sung said.
