STOVE EXPLOSION DESTROYS HOUSE IN BEKASI

Jakarta, Jan 23 (ANTARA) - A powerful explosion destroyed a house at Firdaus IV housing complex in Jati Asih, Bekasi, West Java, at 6 on Saturday morning but there was no immediate report on casualties.

The blast, which occurred at house number B1, seriously damaged it and left at least three people seriously injured.

The injured had been rushed to a nearby hospital but their identity was still unclear.

The police have arrived at the scene and set up a police line around the house.

Jati Asih police spokesman Adjunct Commissioner Ahmad Kusnindar at the scene said the explosion was probably came a gas stove in the house but he added that investigation into the case was still underway.

People of Jati Asih in August last year were startled by the police anti-terror unit, Densus 88, which raided a terrorist hide out at Nusaphala housing complex, killing two terror suspects.

The terrorist had been renting a house at Nusaphala housing complex, about two kilometers from the location of the explosion on Saturday.
