Information Minister heads for Cairo

SANA'A, Jan.23 (Saba)- Minister of Information
Hassan al-Lawzi headed on Saturday for Egypt to partake in the extraordinary session
of
the Council of Arab Information Ministers to be held in Cairo on Sunday.
The session gains a big importance due to its connection with the establishment of
an Arab Media Commission that the council previously approved and assigned the Arab
League's
Secretary-General Amr Moussa to prepare its own system and it was done, al-Lawzi
told Saba.
He said that the commission would deal besides its work with the supervision of the
Arab media, satellite radio and television and electronic media as well as it will
work
on the integration of the information institutions and media companies of the member
states in the national positions and issues.
There are two papers for the intellectual aspect, the first is about the risks of
sectarian and communal information on the present and future of the Arab nation,
and the
second paper on the immediate information responsibilities to be on the Arab media
to do in defense of Al-Quds, al-Lawzi pointed out.
Al-Lawzi noted that Yemen delegation would emphasize the importance of the
commission existence to highlight the Arab position towards all the issues of
satellite media
and electronic media and the implementation of its fundamental objectives.
