UNHCR TO DOUBLE ITS SUPPORT FOR AFRICAN REFUGEES IN YEMEN



SANA'A, Jan. 23 (Saba) - UN High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) will double its efforts in supporting refugees in Yemen, UNHCR's representative in Sana'a Claire Bourgeois said on Saturday.

During her meeting with Interior Ministry Mutahar al-Masri, Bourgeois said that UNHCR would establish new reception centers, besides the three existing ones, to assist the Yemeni government and UNHCR to count the refugees in Yemen.

The organization hailed the decision of the Interior Ministry leadership to establish a new administration for refugees' affairs.

The UNHCR official also thanked the efforts the security bodies made to help the refugees, especially in Kharaz camp and the Ministry's nonstop cooperation with the organization in carrying out its activities and programs.
