LAMPUNG IMPORTS OVER 8.6 MILLION TONS OF YOUNG COWS

Bandarlampung, Jan 23 (ANTARA) - Lampung province imported 6,680,181 tons of young cows worth US$149.62 million from Australia in the January - November 2009 period, a regional trade official said.

Head of Lampung's Trade and Industry office Suparmo said here on Saturday that the young cows were classified as auxiliary good imported for Lampung.

In the eleven-month period, Lampung imported 51 kinds of auxiliary goods for industry with a total volume of 44,386,701 tons worth US$293.77 million, he said.

Among the auxiliary goods imported were weighing machines worth US$259,718 and pipes worth US$3,973.
