DHAMAR TREMBLED BY TWO MORE QUAKES



DHAMAR, Jan. 24 (Saba) - Dhamar governorate was vibrated early on
Sunday morning by two earthquakes measuring 3.5 and 3 on Richter
scale.

The Earthquake and Volcanoes Monitoring Center said that the two
quakes hit an area, seven kilometers southeast the governorate,
respectively at 5:47 and 5:48 am.

The centre said that prior slight quakes have been registered at the
same place.

The quakes were depicted by the centre as slight ones, adding that
the centre specialists are following-up the seismic records
ceaselessly all over the country and the regional waters.

The centre head Jamal Sha'alan called the citizen to be careful and
to build their hoses according to specifications of resistance to
earthquakes

It is worth to mention that, Dhamar city was trembled by
4.3-magnitude quake last Sunday, but there were no casualties
reported.

Dhamar city has been hit by a 6-magnitude quake in 1982. The quake
claimed the lives of 2500 people and about 25,000 injuries in
addition to devastate around 15,000 houses completely and 50,000
houses partly.
