GCC Secretary General receives Ambassadors of Japan and Australia

Riyadh, January 24, 2010, SPA -- The Secretary General of the Gulf Cooperation
Council (GCC) received here today Ambassadors of Japan and Australia to the
Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

During the meeting, the ambassadors handed over a report on the prevention of
the spread of nuclear weapons issued by the Independent Expert Commission which
was established by the two countries. The report will be presented to the
United Nations Conference to review the Treaty on the Nonproliferation of
Nuclear Weapons.

For his part, the GCC Secretary General stressed the GCC position on this issue
as well as GCC keenness to keep the Middle East free of all weapons of mass
destruction.
