Yemen, SFD talks on projects agreements

RIYADH, Jan. 24 (Saba) - Yemen and the Saudi
Fund for Development (SFD) held on Sunday talk session on agreement drafts on
financing
several projects in some governorates.

Undersecretary of Ministry of Planning and International Cooperation Abdullah
al-Shater and the SFD Director General for Technical Affairs Hassan Al-Attas
reviewed the water
and sanitation projects for eight main cities and the fifth energy project in Amran
governorate.
On the other hand, al-Shater held talks on Sunday with the Vice Chairman and
Managing Director Yousef Ibn Ibrahim Al-Bassam over ways to strengthen bilateral
cooperation.
During the meeting, Al-Shater handed over a letter from Deputy Prime Minister for
Economic Affairs and Minister of Planning and International Cooperation Abdul-Karim
al-Arhabi
to Al-Bassam relating to the follow-up of the implementation of the projects funded
by Saudi Arabia government through the SFD.
The letter conveyed al-Arhabi request to speed up preparing the documents of the
projects and financing agreements for the rest of the Saudi Arabia grant to Yemen
in London
donor conference in 2006.
In return, al-Bassam voiced the Saudi fund readiness to send a prompt mission to
assess the rest projects.
