Hyundai Steel to raise steel price next month

SEOUL, Jan. 25 (Yonhap) -- Hyundai Steel Co., South Korea's second-biggest
steelmaker, said Monday that it plans to raise steel prices by up to 5.4 percent
starting on Feb. 1 to reflect increased raw material prices.
According to the steelmaker, the price of reinforcing bars will be hiked to
741,000 won (US $645) per ton from the current 691,000 won.
The price of H-beams will be raised to 860,000 won per ton from the current
820,000 won, it said.
