Yemeni official meets German diplomat, WFP`s regional director

SANA'A, Jan.25 (Saba)
- Deputy Prime Minister for Security and Defense Affairs and Minister of Local
Administration
Rashad al-Alimi met here on Monday with the German ambassador in Sana'a Michael
Klor-Berchtold.
The two sides discussed the underway preparations for the London meeting on Yemen
to be held next Wednesday and a number of topics relating to the developmental,
economic
and security aspects as well as the bilateral relations between the two countries.
In the meeting, the German diplomat confirmed his country's keenness to continue
its support to Yemen to strengthen the Yemeni government's efforts in enhancing the
stability
and development.
In this respect, al-Alimi praised the German government's efforts, affirming the
need to reinforce the cooperation between the two countries in the different
fields.
On another hand, al-Alimi reviewed with the World Food Program (WFP)'s Regional
Director for the Middle East, Central Asia and Eastern Europe ,Daly Belgasmi, the
program's
activities in Yemen.
The two sides dealt with issues relating to the WFP and its efforts within reducing
poverty program and to present the food aid to the displaced people from Saada
province
due to the insurgency war.
Al-Alimi valued the WFP's support to Yemen and its efforts aiming to help the
displaced in the conflict areas, confirming the government's readiness to
facilitate all difficulties
that may hinder the program tasks in Yemen.
