YEMEN, MALAYSIA SIGN MOU IN ELECTRICITY



SANA'A, Jan. 25 (Saba) - Yemen and Malaysia signed here on Monday a
memorandum of understanding in electricity and energy field.

The memo included the promotion of cooperation between Yemen and
Malaysia in institutional training and rehabilitation areas in
addition to the improvements of the electricity networks.

The General Electricity Corporation Director General Abdul-Mumin
Mutahar said that Yemen has a full desire to benefit from the
Malaysian experience in fields of training, rehabilitation and
networks planning.

On the other hand, Minister of Electricity Awadh al-Socotri
inaugurated here on Monday the Malaysia power and energy trade
mission 2010 Yemen, in which about 30 Malaysian industrial companies
taking part.

In a statement to Saba, al-Socotri affirmed the importance of
availing from the Malaysian experience in energy areas as well as in
the rehabilitation of Yemeni cadres in electricity different fields.

The Minister also noted to the significance of developing the
Yemeni-Malaysian cooperation relations in energy area, renewing
Yemen's hail for Malaysian companies to invest in Yemen.
