NDI OFFICIAL: YEMEN IS REAL PARTNER IN DEMOCRATIC FIELD

SANA'A, Jan.25 (Saba) - Head of Middle East Department at the
National Democratic Institute (NDI), Les Campbell affirmed on Monday
that Yemen is a real partner in the democratic field.

Upon leaving Sana'a, Campbell said that despite that Yemen is
currently undergoing a rough time as a result of the economic
difficulties and emergence of extremism and violence in the north
and the southern provinces, but it is characterized by the presence
of an elected parliament, elected local councils, civil society
organizations, existence of political pluralism, and the democratic
institutions.

He noted that he met officials in the government and all political
forces and discussed with them horizons of cooperation between Yemen
and the NDI in the democratic field, expressing his confidence that
the Yemenis are able to solve their problems and face the challenges.
