Chairman of Eastern Region Chamber of Commerce Receives Norwegian Delegation

Dammam, January 26, 2010, SPA -- The Chairman of Chamber of Commerce and
Industry of the Eastern Region, Abdulrahman bin Rashed Al-Rashed met here on
Monday with a Norwegian delegation headed by President of Norwegian Company for
Oil and Gas, Gunnar Gerd.


During the meeting, Al-Rashed briefed the delegation on trade and investment
opportunities in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, especially in the Eastern Region.


On the other hand, Norway's Ambassador to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia Carl
Schi?tz Wibye has pointed out that there are opportunities for development of
cooperation between the two countries in services and consultative works in the
field of oil and shipping.


He noted that the volume of trade between the two countries amounted to about $
300 million, indicating that the Kingdom's imports from Norway annually
amounted to $ 200 million.


The Norwegian Ambassador added that there are a number of Norwegian companies
employing more than 500 Norwegian employees in the Saudi market.
