YEMEN, WFP DISCUSS POOR PEOPLE NEEDS



SANA'A, Jan. 26 (Saba) - Yemen and World Food Programme (WFP)
discussed here on Tuesday the needs of the poor and low-income
people.

At a meeting gathered Vice President Abdu Rabo Mansour Hadi and WFP
Regional Director for the Middle East, Central Asia and Eastern
Europe Daly Belgasmi, Hadi hailed the WFP activities in the Middle
East region, particularly Yemen.

The Vice President also highlighted the efforts made by the WFP to
help the refugees from the African Horn and Internally Displaced
Persons (IDPs) from Sa'ada in addition to the assistance provided
for children suffering from malnutrition.

For his part, Belgasmi appreciated the government's efforts for
facing the various emergent situations, affirming the WFP's keenness
to support these efforts in order to alleviate the government's
burdens.

He also said that WFP would pay visits to some IDPs camps at Haradh
district of Hajjah province to get acquainted with needed food and
medical needs for the IDPs there.
